My trip throughout Egypt started in the ancient city of Alexandria, a coastal city located on the Mediterranean Sea. In general, the city is quite vibrant and has a lot of human activities, so you can hear many different sounds of people talking, shouting, and laughing blended with the sounds of traffic, such as cars honking and the hum of engines. However, If you walk by the coast, you can serenely immerse yourself in the sound of waves crashing against the shore and the sound of boats and ships passing by.

Sound is of major importance to people’s perception of the environment, and some remarked that the overall soundscape of Alexandria has changed for the worse in recent years.
